Fourth Quarter Comeback

Happy Wednesday everyone,

I hope you all are enjoying your fall.

Life for me is really busy right now. I’m getting settled into my new job while still balancing my passion projects. This kind of juggling is taking major time management and organizational skills.

My natural lifestyle brand ‘Of the Wild‘ will be a business vendor at the Community Portrait Pop Up again this month. I am super excited about that. I really enjoy connecting with other creative businesses and meeting new faces.

After being at my new job for two weeks I can honestly say everything is going beautifully. I have business cards which is a big deal because I’ve never had business cards. LOL In the past, everyone has always encouraged me to make my own business card but I never got around to actually doing it. My bio and head shot is now on the company site so I’m official official. I also have a company business credit card which is a big f***in’ deal. Just having my name on a business credit card with a very expensive spending limit makes me nerves AF. lol Blessings on Blessings on Blessings man.

I am in a really great place in life. I’ve been going to more and more creative networking events meeting so many awesome and interesting people. I finally feel like I’m starting to get into the swing of things.

For those who would like to know what I do at my new job, I am an event assistant for a non profit focused on supporting and educating companies on employee ownership. I am learning how to manage webinars, seminars, large conferences, and educational networking events. Every day is something new and I can truly say I am learning sooooo much. I can get more detailed but I don’t want to bore you all to death. Just know my favorite thing about working for this company is the equality. The company promotes employee ownership so everything that involves the company is openly discussed and decided as a group. From healthcare to budget to website changes everyone is well informed and encouraged to voice their questions, concerns, suggestions, and opinions.

After working for so many companies who never gave employees a choice and everything was decided for us, my new workplace is truly a breath of fresh air. To think of how drained I used to feel going into work everyday working for a company that exploded it’s employees.  To think I was fired from that job I hated 3 months ago. To think I woke up crying and feeling weighed down by all the bullsh*t life was throwing my way. To think I had a million side hustles just trying to make ends meet. To now literally arriving to a place in my life where I feel not only supported but inspired. God is currently showing out and I still believe the best is yet to come. I can admit I have been in a weird space mentally every since I lost my grandma at the beginning of this year. The end of this year is definitely looking alot brighter.

I’m putting together a ladies night at my house this month. This will be my first time hosting an event at my place so I’m excited and nervous. LOL this will be the first time some of these ladies meet but I’m sure it’ll go great. I plan on decorating, setting up a Pinterest inspired photo wall and playing drunk party games. I will definitely blog about the whole experience.

Before I wrap this post up I want to give a shout out to my new friend and blog buddy Camryn over at oneblackexperience.com she’ll be performing her first reading this Saturday, October 19th at Litquake, SF’s largest literary arts festival!! Cam and I met at a very pivotal point in our lives and our careers. I am so proud to see us both blooming. I am here for our glow up! God has so much in store for her, I already know it.

As for my blog readers, thank you all for rocking with me still. In the beginning I was committed to posting every Wednesday and I know as of lately my posts are getting more and more sporadic but I promise I’m still here. Learning to juggle it all is the real test.

Thanks for reading & we’ll talk more next week!

As a child I wanted to help the world. I wanted to be a neonatal pediatrician. I wanted to travel the world to help women and children during labor and delivery. I watched a tv special on Oprah about women and children in other countries dying at alarming rates during child birth because of lack of resources and I was inspired to somehow save the world one baby at a time. Since then, my vision has slightly changed. My profession isn’t in medicine but I still want to improve women’s health. My focus is still the same, I still have a dream of changing the world. I have now taken a natural holistic approach to tackling women’s health. Beauty and fashion has been a hobby turned obsession of mine. From reading magazines to wardrobe styling to modeling to orchestrating runway shows I dedicated my whole life to the beauty and fashion industry. As time passed, I began to search for the deeper meaning behind the intricate fabrics, fancy shoes, hair and makeup. I have found that health, beauty and fashion are more connected than I thought. My outlet is writing. Through my writing I hope to spark minds and impact individuals to dig deeper.
