Celebrating the Breakthrough

Happy Wednesday everyone!

After three rounds of interviews, I received the call I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!! I’ve been unemployed for exactly two months! But God is an on time God!!!!! I will be working in events and marketing which is what I went to school for and what I have a passion for. I will be making way more than my last position the company pays for medical benefits, 401k and travel! Not to mention it is an employee owned company so everything is decided democratically between a group of professionals with actual diversity.

After enduring such a toxic environment and work culture in my last position, I prayed so hard to be at a job where the mission and values align with my own. It is important to me to work in healthy environment where I have a voice and I got exactly that! God is awesome. 💛💛💛💛

WOW. A company and a position I am finally excited about!

It took me a whole year to find another position in my field. I worked in a placeholder position at a sketchy company for 10 months. I grew to hate that job but only stayed to keep my bills paid. It became hard to hide my disdain for my job and the management. It took me some time but I’ve made it through the storm. It’s been a long time coming!

I went to my new job to sign my offer letter and new hire papers. Blessings!! While visiting my new office building I got a chance to check out my new desk! It fits me so well. The office is full of beautiful green plants and my desk is so spacious. I have a dual screen computer and my own office phone. Wow ya girl is moving up in the world.

Aside from starting a new 9-5,  my natural lifestyle brand is doing amazing.🌱💚 I will be having a pop-up Saturday September 28th at the #CommunityPortraitPopUp with Lara Kaur 🧡 If you’re in Oakland, stop by my Of The Wild vendor booth to purchase a plant or some of my merch! I am so excited and can’t wait to see everyone!!🌱🌻 & come get your portrait taken by a bomb photographer 📸

As a child I wanted to help the world. I wanted to be a neonatal pediatrician. I wanted to travel the world to help women and children during labor and delivery. I watched a tv special on Oprah about women and children in other countries dying at alarming rates during child birth because of lack of resources and I was inspired to somehow save the world one baby at a time. Since then, my vision has slightly changed. My profession isn’t in medicine but I still want to improve women’s health. My focus is still the same, I still have a dream of changing the world. I have now taken a natural holistic approach to tackling women’s health. Beauty and fashion has been a hobby turned obsession of mine. From reading magazines to wardrobe styling to modeling to orchestrating runway shows I dedicated my whole life to the beauty and fashion industry. As time passed, I began to search for the deeper meaning behind the intricate fabrics, fancy shoes, hair and makeup. I have found that health, beauty and fashion are more connected than I thought. My outlet is writing. Through my writing I hope to spark minds and impact individuals to dig deeper.
