Power of the P😸

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I’m excited to write this week’s blog because there has been so much going on! Over the past weekend, I connected with so many creatives that left me soooo inspired. I was given the idea to start creating a short story category on my blog! I have wrote a few blogs about my history with creative writing. This past year of blogging has really allowed me to grow and challenge my writing skills. I think I may be ready to start creating characters and story lines. That will really get things popping around here!!

My favorite genre to read is love and romance novels so why not start creating my own. Time to start exercising my creativity. 😁

I listen to Jade and XD ‘s podcast episodes every week. Their off the wall short stories they’ve written have also gave me ideas for expanding my writing. Issa Rae has a podcast called Fruit, a scripted audio drama that tells the story of a professional football player struggling with the residual effects of revealing his identity as a gay man. Season 1 was filled with drama so i’m patiently waiting for Season 2.

Listening to and reading different stories has motivated me to step out and try something new. So stay tuned guys for my short stories coming to the blog soon!

Character development ✅ Plot building ✅ Dialog ✅ Emotions ✅ Drama ✅ Imagery ✅ Fashion ✅

Get ready. 😁

Other things going on this week… This is my last week at work so that is something else I am uber excited about! New beginnings. Next step. Endless possibilities.

I’ve been preparing myself for this career transition which is why my blog post is short and sweet this week. I’m also training my replacement so my apologies for the late blog post. I usually try to post my blogs in the morning, my bad guys!

This year I have not only been building my blog, I’ve been really wrapped up in my reading challenge as well. Reading is my form of escape. It helps me pull ideas from different writing styles and inspiration for the short stories I’ve already started writing.

One of the stories I’m developing is about a young black female entrepreneur, navigating single life with her best friends. Balancing her chaotic career and working to revive her nonexistent love life.

Speaking of love … Happy Pride Month!!!

More exciting things from this week were the parades and celebrations in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month. I wasn’t able to make the parades this year but seeing everyone else celebrate always warms my heart.

You guys know I was proud to see my girl Janelle Monae killing it at the BET Awards, representing in her rainbow flag. Although I did not watch the award show, I always catch the red carpet highlights via social media.

&& for the holy than thou folks who disapprove of same sex relationships and marriages. Here’s a message for you:

I am so tired of people’s hateful opinions against the LGBTQ community. I’m tired of people trying to police other’s while their own life is a mess.

Mostly all my posts are about empowerment of some kind. Female empowerment, individual empowerment, creative empowerment and so on. I have and will always fight for equality and freedom. I am a feminist but most of all i stand for humanity. We ALL deserve to be happy. Whatever happy may look like for us.

Women are working to create change one day at a time. I rarely make posts about men because I love yall but this lie about this being a “man’s world” 🙄… We are changing that! Men AND women everywhere deserve to be heard and deserve the right to express themselves. Hyper masculinity is toxic. Homophobia is toxic. Hatred of a group of people for living their lives is ridiculous ESPECIALLY because none of us are saints.

Feminity is beautiful and deserves to be celebrated! No matter our color, body shape, gender, dating preference or physical features. I refuse to let the world turn cold and hard.

Have fun. Be free. Be proud of who you are and live your truth.

We are all healing from something and struggling with something. Hurt people hurt people. #FixYaHeart & Let us all live our best lives 💖

With that being said … On Wednesday’s we wear pink because PUSSY POWER! LOL

P.S. I start my new job on Monday and it is a Feminist company. Pretty sure I am going to fit right in 🤗

Thanks for reading and we’ll talk more next week!

As a child I wanted to help the world. I wanted to be a neonatal pediatrician. I wanted to travel the world to help women and children during labor and delivery. I watched a tv special on Oprah about women and children in other countries dying at alarming rates during child birth because of lack of resources and I was inspired to somehow save the world one baby at a time. Since then, my vision has slightly changed. My profession isn’t in medicine but I still want to improve women’s health. My focus is still the same, I still have a dream of changing the world. I have now taken a natural holistic approach to tackling women’s health. Beauty and fashion has been a hobby turned obsession of mine. From reading magazines to wardrobe styling to modeling to orchestrating runway shows I dedicated my whole life to the beauty and fashion industry. As time passed, I began to search for the deeper meaning behind the intricate fabrics, fancy shoes, hair and makeup. I have found that health, beauty and fashion are more connected than I thought. My outlet is writing. Through my writing I hope to spark minds and impact individuals to dig deeper.

This weeks post was was exciting to me because of everything that we get clued into via our favorite blogger T.lowe as we as Whats the 411 in our city and around the world. There’s so much joy and passion with each and every post. I can’t wait for the short stories to manifest that will be a must read 🙌🏾 !!!!!!! Also equality for all is a very big topic and it is so needed!!!! It’s tiring listening to others nag yet tell others to do it their way! I’ve been so irritated with that and finding what my voice is in my own life, relationship and at work! This blog really helps me look at the world and my life in a different light than I have been I just want to say thank you for shining your light and being you great post

  3. yes, yes, and more yes! Power of the 😼 “Meow”. This week post was just as amazing as the first post; I got to read. I have to say I’m really looking forward to your character creations and stories you will be creating. I also loved the the section on the LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈. The pictures gave me an experience with out watching the shows you mentioned. Lastly I loved how you politely broke down the facts when it comes to practicing what one preaches or just simply shutting the fuck up. I’m still catching up and can’t wait to read more. Keep up the amazing work.
