Collab with SemiYours

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I hope you all had a good three day weekend in celebration of Memorial day. Although this is a short work week I am already TIRED and ready for Friday!! 2 more days!

This week’s post will be dedicated to fashion! Over the last few months I have been working with a fashion startup called SemiYours. Allow me to summarize…

SemiYours is an online marketplace for fashioniastas. The marketplace is designed to allow Designers, Boutiques and Private Owners (this means you if you have a closet full of clothes!) to make an account and add their items to the marketplace. The marketplace is an unlimited closet where consumers can browse and rent. All items to be rented are delivered to a designated location for inspection and cleaning, and then become available for pick-up by the Rentee. It is also an unlimited e-commerce platform for fashion designers and independent boutiques who are looking to brand themselves, grow their market, sell more, and keep up with marketing trends.
Just think of AirBnb and Uber, which both allow you to rent out your personal property safely and securely from virtually anywhere. With Semi Yours, you can do that with your closet!

I am beyond excited for the opportunity to become apart of the SemiYours family.

I have worked side by side with the Founder, Jennifer DeLara, organizing the inventory, rearranging the main office, and taking photos to re-launch the website.

The SemiYours inventory includes clothes for any occasion. It provides a variety of clothes to wear to work, business trips, happy hour, dancing, concerts, festivals, costume parties, weddings, photo shoots, romantic dates, vacations, or even church.

This weekend was our first photo shoot.

Here’s a sneak peak of what we’ve been working on…

Vintage Blue Gucci GG Monogram Trench Coat

Zara Blue Velvet Knee High Boots
Guess by Marciano One Shoulder Dress
Printed Snake Skin Wrap Dress

My favorite part is this company not only gives fashionistas on a budget a chance to play dress up. But it is for everyone who look in their closets and think “I have nothing to wear!” That feeling when you don’t have anything eye-popping to wear and don’t have the extra funds to run to the mall to buy a new outfit. Or when you realize you’ve been wearing the same 5 outfits to work every week. SemiYours is now the answer! SemiYours is an online clothing rental service that offers an inexpensive solution to everyone’s dressing nightmare.

Before I go I would like to remind everyone to wear orange this Friday June 1st. We are wearing orange both to honor those who have lost their lives and loved ones, and to demand a future free from gun violence. Join the movement—Wear Orange this year.

Thanks for reading and we will talk more next week!

After graduating with my BA in Communications specializing in Public Relations, I gained experience in fashion merchandising, wardrobe styling, event planning, branding, office administration, and marketing. When I'm not working, I am active in the art and fashion community in the Bay Area and throughout California. Working behind the scenes at events like LA Fashion Week, Sacramento Fashion Week, SFA Student Showcase and accompanying costume designers like Michael Costello has helped build my knowledge and business relationships in the fashion world. I am just a fashionista and creative writer, who loves thrifting. I absolutely love all things Beyonce as well. I grew up a book worm so if I'm not binge watching TV shows or listening to podcasts, most likely I have my nose in a book. I started this blog after college as a first generation graduate learning, growing, and struggling to figure life out. In hopes of aligning others on a similar quest, I blog about my journey through career obstacles, the ends and outs of love, surviving gentrification in the Bay Area, the fashion & art community, mental hygiene in the black community, and pop culture. I also give lifestyle tips on natural wellness, natural hair, being a plant mom, and DIY projects. I write as a form of healing and self care, I pray that sharing my journey will help motivate community healing, therapy and growth for black creatives & entrepreneurs.
